We are sitting amongst a pile of rotting bodies with Shane Hahn, founder of Pussing Eye Productions out of Cincinnati OH.

WHN: First off, why don’t you tell us a little about yourself.

A: Well, I’m from Cincy, Ohio. I film punk and metal artists, live videos mostly. I’m trying to branch out and do more film styles like music videos, short films, documentaries, etc. But, Pussing Eye Productions as a whole is just a one man (me) free lance product for right now.

WHN: What got you into the horror scene?

A: Back in around 1997, I was about 15 or 16. I took a Digital TV / Radio Production class at one of our local vocational schools. There I learned alot about productions for TV, Radio, and alittle bit of Movies. Then, in June 2004, I got the chance to see (ex-Misfits lead singer) Michale Graves band, Gotham Road at Sudsy Malones here in Cincinnati. That was the first bit of footage I shot for Pussing Eye Productions and spawning what would become Pussing Eye Productions. From their I filmed Dr. Chud’s X-Ward, some local metal bands, Blitzkid, and Calabrese. But, that’s basically how I got into the horror scene. I’ve been a fan of horror music and movies forever, but that’s how I got myself actually into the scene.

WHN: Can you tell us a little about Pussing Eye Productions?

A: I pretty much just did, haha. To get more detailed into what we do though, we basically want to achieve everything you can do production wise. We have websites such as EyeSpace Social Network (which is our very own social network like MySpace or Facebook), internet videos, we did have Pussing Eye Internet Radio but it’s down for now and may become a monthly podcast in the future. It’s kinda hard to do all that we do with no budget, but we enjoy doing it. With no budget we manage to produce some of THE BEST stuff out there that is indepedent in this genre! Imagine what we could do with a sponsor or advertisers help on our budget, we would blow your mind!! [*hint *hint]

WHN: What was the reason for creating Eyespace?

A: The reason for creating EyeSpace is because our fans, music lovers, bands, etc. can get lost easily in the Worlds of MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook. Those sites are to big as far as people that join.EyeSpace is meant to be a independent version of those sites to where fans, bands, etc. can connect, find and prmote events, interact, and stuff like that more easier and faster. Plus, it to give everyone hours of crap to do when your bored, such as our Arcade, Videos, and more.

WHN: What are some of your favorite horror bands?

A: That’s a tough question… there are so many.At this point in time, I would have to say:
GORGEOUS FRANKENSTEIN (who has Alex from Cancerslug singing for them now)
DR. CHUD’S X-WARD
BLITZKID
CALABRESE
To get even more independent than those bands:
GRAVE ROBBER (from Indiana)
PAGAN HOLIDAY 1313 (from Cincinnati)
THE REANIMATED (from Cincinnati)
THE EPIDEMIC (from Cincinnati)

WHN: What are your top 10 favorite horror movies?

A: Another tough one… these are in no specific order:
EVIL DEAD (all three of them)
NIGHT OF THE CREEPS
BUBBA HO TEP
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE (all of them)
CASTLE FREAK
THEY LIVE
NIGHTBREED
NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (all of them)
DRACULA (Bela Lugosi’s version)
WHITE ZOMBIE

WHN: Do you believe in the Paranormal?

A: Hell yeah! Crazy shit happens sometimes that I can’t explain. You know how awesome that would be to see one of those things. I’d probably shit my pants first than think it’s cool after I’m down the road. haha

WHN: Do you know of any haunted sites in your area?

A: I know tons. I live around about 15 of them (give or take). The scariest I have been to is an old abandoned train station in Mariemont, Ohio. I used to go there with my brother and my friends when I was a teenager and party all night. That place had some strange goings on there man. There is also a bunch here in my local area like the Promont in Milford, Ohio. dead man’s curve in Amelia, Ohio… huh, to many to name I guess, haha.

WHN: Know any good ghost stories?

A: I know a bunch. I know a good Cincinnati local story that’s not really about a ghost, but a Frogman. It’s called the “Frogman of Loveland”. It’s takes place in my home city of Loveland, Ohio. My family actually knows some of the people that are in the story. It’s supposed to have some truth behind it but who knows. You can Google it to read the story (***we did, see below***) I know it’s on the internet somewhere. I’m hoping to make a B-Film about it one day and shoot it in Loveland. But, that could be years away if at all. Fan support could make it happen I think though.

WHN: What scares you?

A: The United States Government

WHN: Is there anything else you would like to add?

A: Yeah, we would like to thank everyone that has helped and supported us over the past 6 years! With out them we wouldn’t have made it this far. And for the future fans and supports we thank you too. Also, we are looking for sponsors or advertisers to help us out with our budget so we can get some new equipment and stuff, so if anyone can help us out visit out website or MySpace page and contact us!Fans can also help us out with that by getting some of our kick ass merchandise or donating through PayPal on our website.

frogman of loveland Pictures, Images and Photos

One of the lesser known, amphibious cryptids of Ohio, is the Loveland Frogman. This creature has a history of sightings dating back to 1955. The most recent sighting was in 1988.

On March 3 1972, an anonymous police officer was driving on Riverside Road at around 1 am, when he saw what looked like a dog on the icy road. He pulled over, and shone his headlights on it. It suddenly stood up, jumped over the guardrail, and went down the embankment into the Miami River. The officer described the creature as being 3-4 feet tall, about 50-75 pounds, with leathery skin, and a frog or lizard-like face. He called the dispatcher and returned to the station. He and another officer returned to the scene later that night, where they saw scrape marks on the hill going into the river. No official report was filed.

The second sighting occurred two weeks later. Another police officer was driving into Loveland, when he saw an animal in the road. Thinking that it was an animal hit by a car, he stopped to move it. It suddenly stood up, but in a crouched position, then hobbled over to the side of the road, stepped over the guardrail, while keeping his eyes on the officer. The officer then shot at it but missed. His description matched that of the first officer, only he may have seen a tail.

Neither of the officers filed an official report of the thing, but word of their sightings leaked to the media, and the modern legend of the Loveland Frog was soon spread across the land. A farmer in Loveland also claimed to have seen a froglike creature in March 1972. Investigators began to speculate on a connection with the 1955 sighting of reptilian creatures, and the possibility of a secret race of lizard men inhabiting Ohio’s rivers. Some have suggested that the officers may have actually seen a monitor lizard or a large iguana, which can be over six feet in length. But if so, these reptiles would have to be escaped from a zoo or otherwise transplanted to the area, since they are not native to the region.

In May 1955, a sighting reported by an Ohio man who was driving along the Miami River in Loveland, Ohio. He claimed to have seen three strange bipedal creatures with frog-like features and wrinkles on their heads instead of hair. According to his report, one of the creatures held a device that gave off sparks. Could this have been an alien encounter?

The second sighting, of a similar creature, was when Mrs. Darwin Johnson had a terrifying encounter of her own while swimming in the Ohio River in Evansville, Indiana on 21 August 1955. Something with a claw-like hand under the water grabbed her knee. She struggled in vain as the thing dragged her underwater twice. She eventually fought off the unseen attacker with a friend’s inner tube. The only evidence of Mrs. Johnson’s ordeal were some scratches and a green palm print on her knee.
