The World Horror Network/Horror-Punks.com Interview with Aaron Omen
J.R: How are people responding to Beyond Villainous?
***Aaron: Beyond villainous album sales are exceeding expectations by leaps and bounds all over the U.S. and all over the U.K. Germany and surrounding European countries. The Reviews are positive and I’ve even been personally told that the Album has been helping some people in Cleveland ohio get laid!!! I know, I know…it sounds nuts.

J.R.: You just finished a tour how did that go? What was your favorite show?
***Aaron: We just finished 30 days in the US Northeast and it was an overall success. Great Crowds, I moved alot of CD’s and Merch, and met alot of awesome people along the way…The best showss of the tour were Aliquippa, PA (South of Pittsburg) probably the most violent show I’ve seen in a while. We were invited by our brothers in Children of October which is an AMAZING band to the FALL OUT SHELTER which I recommend any touring band to visit. we did not know what to expect when we first got there as it was underneath a bowling alley ..but there was MORE excitment than an underground fight circuit!!!! The Fans are Tremendous and have a huge appreciation for their venue. We also had a blast at the Downtown Quarterback in Endicott, New York. A 2 story venue that had a great metal and punk crowd. We had a great time rockin with Marquis and Others…and of course you to Jimmy Rotting!!! HAHA. Lastly we closed out our tour on Easter Sunday in Buffalo New York at the Mohawk Place…supporting CALABRESE, all I can say that the crowd was enormous and like it or not we owned the night… yep it was complete ownage…
some may beg to differ but…they know it.
J.R.: Can you tell us a little about your background/influences?
***Aaron: Well let’s start off by saying that I’m the only Horror Punk Rocker that is fed up and could give a rats ass for the Misfits…I owe them no credit for my influence…I hate Samhain and everything in between. I beleive in being able to write good hooks and vocals are a must…My influence comes from anyone with skill from 80’s Cock Rock to Helmet,Deftones, bands that aren’t afraid to augment guitar chords as opposed to the same ol’ one finger power chords…I Hate every kid with a pawnshop guitar and a Horror DVD box Set trying to start a horror punk band and the wanting to name their shit band after a misfits song or something like that…oh ..by the way.. DEATH TO ALL MISFITS TRIBUTE BANDS! May the fleas of a thousand camels infest your pubes till you die!
J.R.: Can you tell us about your touring band?
How did you meet up with Izzy,Chris and Dirty?
***Aaron: IZZY and Chris Lugo are amazing musicians with intimidating presense on stage. gifted on their instruments. I found them in Buffalo. They have a history together playing in a Buffalo punk band called the DUMBSKULLS….what more could I expect..they have the skill, the know how and the look for the job. Unfortunately Dirty Horror still is Lacking tons of touring and playing experience and could not fathom the awesome reponsibility of being the bands leader behind the drum kit. but we wish him the best in his future endeavers.
J.R.: On Beyond Villainous you have Argyle Goolsby doing back up vocals,
how did that come about?
***Aaron: Goolsby and I have a mutual respect for each others abilities both vocal, performance and song writing…I have always admired his creativity and skill level and Blitzkid is one of my top fav. bands and he is a personal friend of the Omen Family so we just said why not …let’s record some tracks….and there will be more to come from the both of us in the future…
you can count on that.
J.R.: Can you tell us a little about Omenology Music?
***Aaron: OMENOLOGY LTD. is a Company…an Entrepreneurship. Omenology LTD in time will be the leader in Production/Promotions company (done Right). O.LTD will slowly weed out the fakes in the scenes across America, It will be a label, a studio, a distributer, a indie film distributor, clothing marketer…etc. You name it and OMENOLOGY LTD. will be the front running name in all aspects of the Music Industry..so be on the look out shortly.
J.R: Word on the street is that you had a blast in New Jersey
any plans on moving there? Hahaha
***Aaron: You know i was so stoked to play the MECCA of all Horror…where it all started…you know Misfits …blah blah etc…truth is…I WAS LET DOWN BIG TIME! The fans are weak, the venues are shit…there is more graffiti and missing stop signs than anything… and apparently New Jersey’s only claim to fame is where Kevin Smith filmed his movie and it’s so gay to see a Dunkin Donuts on EVERY FUCKIN’ CORNER…Pathetic…truth is Jersey WAS NOT ready for the real
thing when we arrived…and I could give a rats ass if NJ fell into the Atlantic ocean next month. Infact if I ever play that shit hole again…(ANY PART) My new going rate is 2.2 MILLION DOLLARS UPFRONT…….PLUS FOOD! AGAIN FUCK YOU AND YOUR TOLLS AND YOUR NO LEFT TURNS AND YER JERSEY SHORE!
J.R.: What’s in your CD player/Mp3 player right now?
***Aaron: I keep Morrissey in the CD player as much as possible to balance out my darkside….After all, Morrissey is on another level of smoothness that
the average human being can’t even fathom or comprehend.
J.R: What’s your Favorite Horror Movie and What do you think of today’s horror movie remakes?
***Aaron: Hands Down “THE EXORCIST” you know it…I know it…there will NEVER EVER EVER ……….EVER be a scarier movie than that…and if you dare try to argue this point…then the first thing I’m going to see is you little age…and laugh…cause none of the Saw’s will ever compare. get a clue kiddies!
J.R.: Do you believe in ghosts? If so, are there any ghosts stories that you’ve heard of where you live and do you believe them to be true?
***Aaron: Of course…I’m Hell’s favorite MC…so you should assume I’ve seen some shit down there that can’t even be described through words and typing.
J.R.: What was the best concert you have been too?
***Aaron: For the Money and Production and I was blown away by A PERFECT CIRCLE but for all around fun aspect and straight driving groove it has to be a toss up between Motley Crue and beleive it or not HELMET is a fun and very Tight rock band that many can learn alot from. Also KINGS X is the tightest shit around …but what ya’ll know about that?
J.R.: In what ways do you think your music affects people?
***Aaron: I’m was happy to learn that there are more than a handful of bands all over the world starting out that have listed me as a major influence..it is very flattering even though I am still new and will always be learning myself. I don’t know what kind of role model I make to aspiring horror bands out there but I have an open door policy to answer any questions and consult those that want to discuss formulas that have worked for me so far in such a short period of time.
J.R: When not playing music, what kinds of things do you like to do?
***Aaron: I’m a family man and daddy to my soon to be 5 yr old little girl Keinnah. I do lots o’ daddy stuff, watch movies, play Online Gaming on XBOX LIVE and
oversee day to day operations of Omenology Ltd.
J.R.: Ever pick up road kill?
***Aaron: How do you think I found the “drummer” for our last tour?
J.R.: Any final words you would like to say?
***Aaron: Thanks very much to Marquis and Jimmy from Others and Horror-Punks.com for caring enough to get the inside scoop on Aaron Omen and I appreciate your passion and love for our genre and National Horror Scene.
