WHN/H-P Interview With Lucian Reinfield of DRAGNUN
We’re sitttin here in a small graveyard in Bluefield WV drinking moonshine and praisin the lord with Lucian Reinfield bassist for Dragnun and founder of the “Cross & Reinfields Horror Fest”. Let’s hear what he has to say…

HP: First off, why don’t you tell us a little about the band. History, where ya reside, members, influences etc…
Lucian: Wow, Were definitely getting to the Bones on the First Question, Very Nice. However, I warn you, We have a bit of an EPIC history, so bare with me, I promise all the answers wont be this detailed, as to not stress the vision of the readers, or their interest, ha ha.
So, Basically, Dragnun was formed in June of 2004, under the name “Vladimir’s Ghost” with myself & Former Singer “Crow”, 2 months later, & 0 Progress, I put together A long over due Project I wanted to do, an Indie Horror Label, “Living Dead Recordings”, at this point due to having a Child and getting married, dealing with life, I hadn’t been active in the Music Scene for over 2 years, since I was “Blitzkid‘s” manager for only a brief time when everything first started in our area and “Blitzkid” had only been together about 4 years at that point. And with that, My Newly founded label launched back onto the scene with my now annual event, “Cross & Reinfields Horror Fest”, the largest scale local music production of the year for our area, and from there things started taking off, thru the winter of 2004 into January of 2005, when I decided for our first Label release, a 2 Disc compilation album of Underground Horror Rock being covered by the musicians that are not only inspired by it, but currently apart of it, and the people that are making sure it gets more & more exposure.
I arranged, with the help of “TB Monstrosity of Blitzkid”, about 32 songs to be recorded, and he was also the first to sign up, the idea was to book a common studio and have diff. musicians come in at diff. times and records their versions of some of their favorite songs to all be compiled together, such as “Killer Creature Double Feature” By “Nim Vind / Mr. Underhill”. However, as big as I wanted this to be, it was becoming unrealistic, budget wise and location wise for some of the people I wanted involved, Such as “TB Monstrosity, Coffin Keenan Of Under A Nightmare, Dr. Chud of Misfits/X-Ward/Blitzkid/Gorgeous Frankenstein, Myself, Travis Broyles of Crypt of Blood Records”, Just to name a few. SO this became a HUGE Road block for the project, Until one day myself & TB were talking and he was like” Why don’t we just play the songs?” , at this point, that was going to be the only way to see the idea thru, and Hence the 2 cd compilation know as “Dragnun”, became a band, We scrapped the name “Vladimirs Ghost” and went forward under Dragnun from then on.
I Then called up “Kristopher Dandridge”, Long time Friend and esteemed guitarist and asked if he wanted in on my new venture, He was instantly excited and definitely up for doing it, “TB Monstrosity” signed on for vocals, I picked up Bass, I then called up “The Wolfman” Of local Horror Punk band “Late Night Zero” and signed him on for our 2nd. guitarist, at this point all we needed was a drummer, and one night while i was at work, A friend brought in a young, but eager fellow, “Andrew Kadaver” who was dying to find a band to play with, & Low & Behold Dragnun was born. And within a couple of weeks we began gathering at “Late Night Zeros” practice facilities once or twice a week and began working up the material selected for the CD, Which included at that time, “Killer Creature Double Feature, by Nim Vind/ Mr. Underhill, The Beyond by Cancerslug, Let The Sleeping Corpses Lie by The Reaction, Dead Flesh Gurl by Mister Monster, Casket By Michale Graves, Rise Again By The Horror/Evil Eyes, Frozen Ghost By The Rosedales”, Just to name a few…
Shortly into the practice sessions, I enlisted the assistance & production/recording talents of “Chris White”, Original Drummer For “Blitzkid” Even before “Dr. Stuart Evilstein” & Current drummer of the very renowned metal band “This Machine”, to record our first, well, at the time only I suppose SINGLE, “Killer Creature, Double Feature”, to be released as our demo, Chris filled in on drums for the session, Myself on bass, and we recorded it on his 4 track in the upstairs of My Dad’s house in Bluefield, Later on TB came in, after finishing a string of “Blitzkid” Shows and laid down the guitar & vocal trax, I then had another FIEND behind the Dragnun camp, Local INDIE Rapper/Producer “Hektic”, to mix the trax down and add some crunch and mastering to the song, and get it over into DIGI/CD format for us, And yes I did say Rapper, and A VERY TALENTED one at that, but he was & is a TRUE musician with an ear for just about anything, and was able to capture the sound we were looking for.
At that time, we all resided in rural mountainous areas of southern West Virginia, And on the outskirts of Virginia, Myself, Dandridge & Andrew residing in Bluefield, WV, although Andrew is originally from Utah. TB residing in Pocahontas, VA & The Wolfman of LNZ residing just 45 minutes away in Bastian, VA.
Although we had the Heart & Desire to play the music we loved, we chose a BAD time to do so, shortly after Dragnun’s 3rd. show just inside of 6 months of being together, Opening for “Dr. Chuds X-Ward” @ Bluefield City Park when Living Dead Recordings Closed the park to the public for an 8 Hour Punk Concert, & Performed with Special Guest “Adam Delamorte of Mister Monster” on the Song “Dead Flesh Gurl By Mister Monster, Which was a special treat for us, He was in from LA at the right time, and was impress to hear we covered on of their songs and was equally amped to play the Epic Horror / Doo-Wop solo that accompanies the song, ” that “Blitzkid” got picked up for their 1st. European Tour & became increasingly busy, limiting TB’s time & means to rehearse or perform with the band, We Enlisted Soon to be Dragnun’s 2nd. Vocalist, “Crow” to perform our, unbeknown to us last show for quite a while, which was at then known as “Lucian Reinfields Horror Fest 2″.
After that performance, which was better than our previous 3 shows despite the fact TB was in Germany on Tour & Dandridge was EXTREMELY ill after returning from a visit with his father in Chicago, that Dragnun was forced to take an Indefinite Hiatus.
In May of 2007, after almost 2 &1/2 years of not so much as seriously discussing the band any longer, Timothy Cross was at my apartment, and we were discussing his interest in becoming my Business partner for “Horror fest” and also perhaps buying into a piece of “Living Dead Recordings” and resurrecting the label from its ashes and getting things back on track, that Dragnun as brought up, he then informed me of his interest to also revive the monster that never was, and REALLY get things going, I became instantly excited & phoned Dandridge, having him come over for a few beers and see if he still wanted to move forward, After a successful night of ideas & discussions, Dragnun was revived, and we decided to begin work after that years “Horror Fest” …
Tim lined up some drummers to try out, and we enlisted “EROC” on 2nd. Guitar as “The Wolfman” had a full plate with his own band, “Late Night Zero”. And at this point due to TB’s INSANE distance being he relocated to an area right outside of Boston, Mass. & His Tight schedule with “Blitzkid”, Tim assumed the duties of our main vocalist, with TB doing guest spots as his schedule permitted, . So, January of 2008, after taking 2 months off after “Cross & Reinfields Horror Fest” for Holidays and down time, we called up the first drummer on the list, Evan Garcia, and we rented our local venue “The Rocket Club” on an off night to begin our rehearsals…
After 2 months of Rehearsing, We re-enlisted “Crow” to attack Horror Punk with a Diff. angle, 2 Vocalists/Front men, to really step up the live stuff & add some harmonizing, Unfortunately Evan Garcia, was not working out on drums, and Andrew, our orig. drummer, had relocated to Arizona. So, we added a vocalist & cut a guitar by moving EROC over to the skin bashing duties and we set the band in motion, Playing about 20 gigs thru out the spring & summer including 2 mini tours that ran about 5-7 days each, And had to recruit long time friend “Eddie B.” to assist myself with some management/road crew duties, Dragnun took off with some definite intent on making a name for ourselves, good or bad, ha ha.
At this time, we also had touched base with our original producer, “Chris White” who recorded us the 1st. time around and began the sessions for our EP “Out Of The Casket”, and was able to get a pro mix @ Sonic Design Studios in Bristol, Tenn. after doing the recording sessions in Chris’s home studio in Bluefield, VA. We Did a rushed pre-release at Horror Fest 2008, and was able to sell all but 3 of the first 100 copies. And this also reviving “Living Dead Recordings” with an actual Band release as opposed to a couple of compilations I had released with the areas local bands. And after a busy season we took the winter off to all deal with some personal things and holidays, ect. Basically, just Much needed down time after such a hectic & busy year, with the tours, the fest, the recording & release, ect.
2nd. Week of February, 2009. We came off of break and resumed rehearsals with a few new covers to work up, some new ideas & to begin booking the spring/summer schedule.
On Sunday, March 29th. 2009, the date of our first show back of the season, early that day, mid afternoon maybe, I was woken by Tim Cross informing me that EROC was at the ER in the next town over, he had apparently overdosed, to our knowledge, overdosed & over drank the night before and his girlfriend had to rush him to the hospital when she realized he was extremely discolored and barely breathing, that after noon, EROC passed away, at the age of 24. The entire band and Closest friends, Girl friends had arrived at the ER just shortly before EROC passed. This of course changed EVERYTHING for the worse for the band, as a band & as individuals, we had lost our closest friend, our brother, and our will to play, let alone some days the will to live fir the first few weeks after, it was Devastating. I, myself, have never lost anyone that close before, and was very unsure of how to deal with it, and it was equally as hard for the rest of the band.
We held a Memorial show for EROC on Aug. 1st. of 2009 to raise funds for his burial costs, as his family was needing assistance, and “Chris White” took the honor of playing with Dragnun, not only has he been involved with the band since the beginning, but EROC looked up to him as a Friend & Musician, there was no one else suited for the job at the time.
Also, We still had dates to fulfill with the 6th. installment of Horror Fest, Financial obligations for the show, Van rentals, ect, as this was the year we took the show abroad and headed to North Carolina with the show covering dates in Raleigh & The Main night in Fayetteville, NC. @ The Rock Shop with Co-Promoter “Sharpie Riot of the NC Based Horror Punk Band The Villains” & Also the Owner/Operator of “Closed Coffin Records”. For these dates we were unsure of a lot of things, Myself & Tim Cross had a side project, “Demonsgrave” which Tim was debating on taking full time after EROCS passing and laying Dragnun to rest, While we didn’t want to move on without EROC, we knew inside that he would be FURIOUS with us if we just gave up and didn’t continue, Music was his passion, so we had to make it ours if nothing else than just for him. So we called up “Mikey Mortis of Demonsgrave” and asked if he would be interested in in filling in for Dragnun just to get thru the Horror Fest Dates, which were only 3 shows, Bluefield, WV. & the 2 NC shows, He signed on and we moved forward.
Unfortunately, on top of everything else, “Crow” was dealing with some serious life situations, personal & whatnot and could no longer maintain, realistically, being in a band with all of the things he was dealing with, and was let go in September of 2009. We thanked him for his activity & time with the band and expressed should things change, his return was not out of the question. I then called up TB and checked his schedule with “Blitzkid” & His Other New England Based Band, “Vagora”, and Surprisingly enough, his agenda lined up with ours despite his full time involvement with His other 2 bands, a part time job and some what of a hectic daily life.
Dandridge, Mortis & Myself rehearsed alone without vocals for 5 weeks before the Horror Fest shows began, also, at the same time, Tim and I, under LDR Officially released “Out Of The Casket” wide scale, Pressing & all, Detailed custom art by close friend, “Kevin Beavers” & a Memorial Tray liner of EROC by “Gehenna Black of Appalachian Outbreak” (A Local Indie Music & PR Website). We then set out on our Weekend of Horror Fest Dates, Feat. Dragnun, Demonsgrave, The Villains & Vagora, Along side TB for the Bluefield, WV. & Fayetteville, NC. Shows & Tim reassuming his band Duties for the final Raleigh, NC. show.
And that, For those of you who truly wanted to know, that is the VERY EPIC & Detailed history of Dragnun, To the best of my recollection, ha ha. A lot of alcohol along the years but I got most of it, Thanks to Marquis DeBlood for asking the question, to get the story out there…
HP: So, Dragnun is a bit of an odd name. Does it have any special meaning? Who came up with it?
Lucian: Actually, Not really, no special meaning at all other than the humor of where it came along, when I was working as a shift manager at McDonalds, I had been racking my brain for a name for the CD release, cause at that time the band was still called “Vladimirs Ghost”, and a girl I worked with, “Sonja Carter”, shares my interest in odd things and my love for Horror, Especially The Universal Monsters, … So on a night that we had a bus of Catholic School Kids, (Ha ha, I know what your thinking, and no, Not just all Girls), Sonja said, “Well there ya go, a plot for a B-Horror flick, a bunch of future nuns attacked by Dracula at McDonalds, Hell, Dragnun” , At that point I almost choked as I was taking a drink of coffee when she said the word Dragnun, and knew that was it, it was 110% Original & Extremely Unique, against all odds I knew it couldn’t be taken, or at least I REALLY hoped, and after some online research, I found it to be wide open, Therefore, We are, Dragnun”… Complete Randomness & A BS Friday night at a Fast Food Job and that combined with twisted personalities, we had a name.
HP: Now your E.P. is primarily cover songs. Do you have any or plan on writing any original material and will they be like the previous songs with a lot of harmonies and killer riffs?
Lucian: Actually, Good timing on that question, Dragnun was & has always been a concept band, based solely around Horror Punk & some of our favorite bands of that genre, however, as of this past spring, when we decided to keep going full time, with “Mikey Mortis” formerly of “Demonsgrave” announced as our new drummer, we also have began writing, and have already debuted our first original at this past weekends’ ROCK FOR EROC” show, the 2nd. Memorial fundraiser for EROC. The Song we have finished & performed last weekend, is called “Become One Of Us” & was written by Kristopher Dandridge, Mikey Mortis & Timothy Cross, during the “ROCK FOR EROC” Rehearsals, . It was actually the only time recently I was over just a few minutes late for practice, running about an hour behind and when I arrived, they had wrote the song, that day, we knew Dragnun was gonna change & no matter what we were going forward. But yes, there will be all of those features in which the covers allow us to play now, with some of our own twists, For instance in the song that’s done, There’s a Floor Tom/Bass Breakdown that comes straight out of the chorus, and after wards back into the verse riff with harmonizing and some very familiar Horror Punk Formulas. So, More to come!
HP: So, your out of Bluefield WV, home of Blitzkid. Is Bluefield the new home of horror-punk much like Lodi is to NJ? What is the scene like?
Lucian: Well, As much as i would love to say yes, Unfortunately, no. Not in my opinion, Were in the heart of the bible belt here, and although it is the home of “Blitzkid”, and there are some very talented musicians here and some GREAT bands, like “This Machine” & “Beards & Bats”, Dragnun & Late Night Zero are the only other 2 Horror Punk bands here, and we both stemmed from being inspired by “Blitzkid” as many Horror Punk bands today have, however, Our scene is, well, Its got its ups and downs, When I first began booking & Promoting, back in 2000-2001, and was working with “Blitzkid” then, they were just getting established & our scene blew up, then, they became more & more popular and eventually was playing elsewhere most of the time, while other bands still played here, the scene slowly declined, and I left the scene after separating from my one on one work with “Blitzkid” and got married, while focusing on other priorities such as Father Hood, Ect. The Scene died off, No one was booking or playing, A show here, a few months later a show there, No progress.
Then in 2004, The Birth of “Horror Fest” Re-Birthed the Music scene here and for about a year & a half we were in Overdrive with shows, bands, LDR, Ect, then once again it died off no matter how hard we tried to keep it going, Alas “The Rocket Club” opened and began working with underground bands here, I began working there after EROC left the club, He took another job that didn’t allow for 3 & 4 am nights at the club, and once again it blew up, bringing in ALL of the local bands, Hundreds of Road Bands over the past 3 years, not to mention with all this, inspiring new bands to start up, some break up, and some step up.
Its been on & off for years, for instance, last weekend, “ROCK FOR EROC” was the 1st. all ages show of the year, presented by “Living Dead Recordings” & A good friend Montana Galvan, under “Montana’s Alternative Press”, a former radio show she worked for in a neighboring town.
All this yet another reason we took the fest out of state in 09, because its a VERY large scale production, which costs a lot of money to do here, and attendance was down over 30% in 2008, which made it VERY difficult to maintain such a show here, with the scene not being at full force. When its good, its Fuckin AWESOME!, but when its bad, Its BAD!
HP: Now you run “Cross & Reinfields Horror Fest”. Now this is in it’s 7th year running. Can you tell us a bit more about the event?
Lucian: I combined some of the East Coasts most Un-Dead Horror Rock bands with Local & National Vendors & Companies, Such as Happy Cloud Pictures, who was a guest vendor at the show, along with the Hostess, “Lilith Stabs”, Crypt Of Blood Records held as a sponsor & Vendor for the event, along with countless volunteer ghouls to take the stage & walk amongst the crowd. Of course, like with every major scale production, the idea had its glitches, anywhere from last minute cancellations to sound problems, however, that is only fuel for the fire. With each year Horror fest will grow and host its grave to many bands from the area and beyond, also, we have offers open to actors and film makers of the horror genre, not to mention many other additions to be added as the festival heads towards the level I foreseen when I began, And Hopefully become able to take the fest to the extremities of such events as “Hell Fest, Ozzfest, Warped Tour, Mera-Luna Fest”, Ect, Ect, Ect. Although this would take TONS of planning & preparation & Some SERIOUS Blood Money, its healthy to have goals I guess, All we can do is take a shot and see where it goes, its been 7 yrs, there’s no turning back.
In 2008, after The 5th. Annual Installment of “Lucian Reinfields Horror Fest”, The show will now take flight, and NO LONGER be based out of Bluefield, WV. Any Longer. To Help Prepare for the next 5 years of Mayhem, “Sharpie Riot” Of “The Villains” & “Closed Coffin Records” out of Raleigh, NC. will be joining Mr. Cross & Myself to help ensure that The Fest Becomes more Gory & More Bloody then we EVER imagined, & maybe some Kick ass Music in the process, ha ha.
HP: How do you feel about the state of the music industry, digital music and so on?
Lucian: Hmmmm, I’ve heard many diff. things, like Companies releasing Download cards as opposed to Cd’s, So when a bands label ships their Music to them to sell at shows, it will be a box of credit card style download cards, like Napster or I-tunes cards, …
That’s one of the most recent things I’ve heard as far as distro goes, but I neither agree nor disagree, it sounds cool, but if you think like me, I want the CD, ya know? I mean I want to see the bands artwork, I want to read the liner notes, And MOST importantly, I want to Be able to pop it in the cd player in the car, ya cant play a card in the car, So, while its a decent concept, I DO NOT think that it should completely take the place of CD’s, it could be released as an option, not an alternate or replacement. Then I’m good with it.
As far as the Industry itself? Well, Its FUCKED!!! Especially for bands in the Horror Punk genre that are struggling to break into the focus of the mainstream, and its been a LONG HARD ROAD OUT OF HELL! my Fiends, and Know, I’m NOT paying homage to “Marilyn Manson” with that statement, its just the fuckin way it is! Bands like us are probably NEVER gonna get offers & Opportunities that bands like Three Days Grace, Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Cradle of Filth, Danzig, Ect has gotten or will get, I still believe that The Misfits is the closest any Horror Punk band will ever get to that level, and VERY FEW bands have been able to follow …
Top of my head, bands that are in our genre that’s came any where near that close would be, “The Crimson Ghosts”, Nim Vind/The Vincent Black Shadow”, “Wednesday 13″, “The Murderdolls”, “Blitzkid”, “Calabrese”, “Gorgeous Frankenstein”, And I cant seem to think of many others that’s made it that far, Were ALL struggling, and we struggle more due to our loyalty to play the music we love & want to play as opposed to what the industry is looking for and would rather have us play. So, I guess were FUCKED! but on the bright side, Ill never get tired of raiding the after Halloween clearance @ Wal-Mart for stage props & liters of blood for our shows every year, Cant beat $0.75 for a jug of blood, Fuck a Record Deal, ha ha ha.
HP: What does the future hold for Dragnun?
Lucian: Basically, At this point, the plan is to continue to write over the summer, while booking the fall schedule, with the current line-up of the band, “Myself, Kristopher Dandridge, Timothy Cross & Mikey Mortis”. Also were going to continue some Filming over the summer & if all goes well, We will be submitting some Live Footage, behind the scenes stuff, Antic & What not’s, Ect, to be compiled for a full length DVD to be released sometime in the coming months, maybe by spring of 2011 if not sooner …
“Joey Von Photography & Videographer” will be handling the Production, Editing & Artwork for the DVD, and if the project is successful, It will be Released thru “Garage Films Inc”. Out of Tenn. & of course thru “Living Dead Recordings”. And Hopefully the FINISHED version of the video for “Killer Creature, Double Feature” we began filming in 2008 will be finished & be apart of this DVD, although, we have decided to SCRAP about 90% of our previously recorded stuff for this project, because we want to release good quality stuff, and a lot of our older recordings either suck, or we suck in them, ha ha. Cant release that now can we…
However, Also if we are able to complete at least 8 Original songs by the end of the Horror Fest Schedule, and they don’t BLOW, we plan to go back to “Sonic Design Studios” with possibly a new Producer, “Mike Stephenson”, depending on The availability of “Chris White” who has been our previous producer.
IF this intent is followed thru, we plan to record 2-3 more covers from our original list of material to add on with the originals, Providing we get proper permission to record & release the material, I can tell you that it will DEFINITELY Kick ass if we can, But I cant say who the bands are or what not, due to we have not sought recording rights as of yet…
But Trust me, It will blow your mind…
HP: Can you tell what inspires you?
Lucian: Musically? I draw my Inspiration from Artists such as Johnny Cash, George Romero (For The Horror Stuff Mainly), And Yes, Not to sound like a Fan Boy Because were friends, But Argyle Goolsby Because he learned to play Bass Just for Blitzkid, And he & TB Drove that band thru hell for 13 years, came from nothing & Became what he is now, even though some people would disagree, I admire his drive mainly, Kevin Lyman (Founder of Warped Tour And a man who’s idea was told it would flop, then he made music history), Alex Chandon (Black Metal Producer/Film Maker), Boris Karloff (A TRUE Horror Icon), The Crimson Ghosts (Because they are Re-Inventing Horror Punk one CD at a Time), Kevin Smith (For proving Independent Thought Can & Will Be Successful), Tim Armstrong.
As Far As In general, Well, Life, Basically, Mine was never easy, and I draw my motivation & Inspiration from tribulations & REAL Horror, The Horror Of Reality, Like those days when you feel like you cant stand another day, cant go on, You have to use EVERYTHING that’s bad that’s EVER happened to you and draw the hate from that to keep going, to change things, to better your self & to make your music make a difference, even if its just to one person, you could save that one person that one day and you’ve done something. You changed EVERYTHING!… That’s why I got into music, to CHANGE things in my area, to give options to kids here that didn’t have any before we started, to give the ones that don’t belong something to belong to, a reason to do something, & hopefully get them inspired to do the same thing, and SPREAD THE VIRUS of Music & Independent Thought.
HP: What bands “Rock Your boat”?
Lucian: Hmmm, Im VERY Diverse when it comes to music, My Favs though, Heres a list of a few…AVENGED SEVENFOLD, UNEARTH, BLITZKID, JACKOFF JILL, RISE AGAINST, THRICE, MISFITS, METALLICA, CRADLE OF FILTH, ATREYU, KILL WHITNEY DEAD, GREENDAY, THE CRIMSON GHOSTS, THE VILLIANS, LATE NIGHT ZERO, INSIDES OUT, THIS MACHINE, THE JUNN HORDE, THE DROPKICK MURPHYS, MOTLEY CRUE, JOHNNY CASH, ANTI-FLAG, BOWLING FOR SOUP, SIMPLE PLAN, IRON MAIDEN, BUDDY HOLLY, TONY BENNET, MISTER MONSTER, EVERGREEN, TERRACE, DISTURBED, DR. CHUDS X-WARD, BREAKING BENJAMIN, FALLOUT BOY, SLIPKNOT, DOPE, ZUG ISLAND, TWIZTED, ZOMBINA & THE SKELETONS, THE OTHER, WEDNESDAY 13, MURDERDOLLS, TRASH LIGHT VISION, GHOUL SQUAD, THE GRAVEYARD BLVD., OCTANE OVERLOAD, BEARDS & BATS…
HP: Danzig or Graves?
Lucian: GRAVES! Hands down.
HP: Is there an area where you live (park, house, etc.) that is known to be haunted? If so, what is the story or legend that makes people believe this area is haunted? Have you ever visited this place?
Lucian: Not Really, Eh, There always something though, TB’s Hometown, Pocahontas, VA. has an OLD cemetery where a lot of their band photos were taken, there’s always some stories about that place, but we have been there at night before, did some drinking & some filming a few years ago and never saw anything, then there’s that “Blitzkid” song “Dead House”, its about an abandoned house, that Myself & Goolsby found while hanging out with these Girls WAY back in the day, a few blocks from my dads place, there was blood smeared on the wall if memory serves me, may not have been real though, could have been paint, there were rusted red stains all in the fridge and a ton of “EVIL”/”WICCAN” graffiti, but, Towns like this, Kids get bored, hard to say man, I don’t think so though.
HP: What do you believe makes a good horror film?
Lucian: Hmmmm, TALENT for one, People who can actually act, A dedicated visonary-ish type director, a UNIQUE idea/plot, Location, Location, Location, THAT makes or breaks the movie, And a Budget!, I mean I’m as big of a B-Horror fan as u will ever find but The more you have to work with the better & more believable the film can become, But id never turn on the cheese horror stuff either…
HP: What’s your favorite horror film?
Lucian: Frankenstein! (/w Boris Karloff)
HP: What do you think of today’s horror movie remakes?
Lucian: For the most part, they aren’t bad, Some are a bit much or overdone, none that stand out right off, But there have been some that’s disgraced the original film or the preceding film, like the sequel to “The Lost Boys”, that was GARBAGE in my opinion, would have been great if they hadn’t titled it a sequel to a horror classic, other than that I’m open minded to them, however, if they ever screw up a remake of a Universal Monsters Movie I would be HIGHLY pissed!!! Those are my Favs above all…
HP: What do you believe is true but can’t prove it?
Lucian: Oh this is a dangerous question, ha ha. I wont elaborate to much just in case, if for nothing else, so I don’t look like a Jack Ass, ha ha ha.
Basically I have a few theories, I mean, Vampires are something I think had to come from SOMETHING real, don’t know what but Id love to prove something on that subject, And I Mean REAL Vampires, or the concept of REAL vampires, not this JACK ASSED TWILIGHT CRAP! Just Saying…
Werewolves, There’s another one, That could have stemmed from SOMETHING real, but if for nothing else, Its nice to not know, because that’s where inspiration comes from, if we don’t know, there’s no limits on imagining…
However, Succubus, That’s Real!!! I can Prove it, Its The Modern Day “Gold Digger” Ha ha. So, They do exist, sucking your should dry through Sex and Your Wallet to while they are at it… Just throwing that in there…
HP: Any final words?
Lucian: A Special Thanks to Everyone @ The World Horror Network for inviting Dragnun in to be apart of all this, and Especially to Marquis DeBlood for taking the time to delve a little deeper into all this, the band & Our festival and whatnot thru this Interview, Hopefully people will find it entertaining or interesting if nothing else…
UNITY, NOT CONFORMITY! FUCK ALL AUTHORITY!!!
LONG LIVE THE HORROR…
From The Grave,
